PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a primer composition for a positive electrode used in a nickel hydrogen secondary battery that is good in output characteristics and cycle life, and also suppressed in influence on cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A primer composition according to one embodiment of the present invention is used for a nickel hydrogen secondary battery positive electrode including a two-dimensional structure collector, and contains leaf-shaped graphite particles (A) having an average particle size of 1-50 μm, carbon blacks (B) having an average particle size of 0.01-0.3 μm, and an aqueous resin (C).
