<p>The device (18) has an adaptable length spacer (20) connecting an end part (22-1) and another end part to be placed on an element i.e. post (12-1), and another element e.g. post or cross-piece, of a wooden door frame to be maintained. Each end part includes a bearing surface (23) to be fitted on a front face (25) or rear face of the respective frame element, and an elastically deformable space maintaining unit (24) for maintaining spacing of the frame elements, where the maintaining unit is located at rear (26) of the end part.
