PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device which can continuously perform active processing for adapting itself to an environment in which the information processing device is to be used even when the information processing device is in a deep sleep mode.SOLUTION: An information processing device is connected with a network via a network interface device, and can communicate with a server on the network. The information processing device holds address information of the server and periodically transmits information about the information processing device to the server. When the information processing device shifts its state from a normal state to a power saving state, the information processing device notifies the network interface device of the held address information and the information about the information processing device in order to continue periodical transmission.
