METHOD FOR DETERMINING HYGIENIC INDEX IN MIXED OCCLUSION IN CHILDREN FOR ASSESSING HYGIENIC STATE OF ORAL CAVITY

A method for determining the hygienic index for assessment of the dental deposit comprises staining vestibular surface of the teeth and scoring the staining area. In the period of the mixed occlusion, the vestibular surfaces of the lower frontal teeth are stained and the hygienic index is calculated taking into account the staining area (scored in points) and the number of deciduous and permanent incisors and canines. The following formula is used:HI = Σ / n whereinΣ – sum of scores of stained arean – the number of the lower frontal teethThe state of the oral cavity is assessed and the required hygienic measures are provided.
