596275 Disclosed herein is a solid dose composition comprising at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient such as ibuprofen and at least one controlled release agent comprising hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) and method of manufacturing said composition. In a preferred embodiment the controlled release agent is present in an amount from 10 to 30 % by weight of the final composition. The burst profile of at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient in the composition is regulated by the apparent viscosity of the controlled release agent and wherein at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient is processed by wet granulation. |
