A liquid crystal display device (100) is equipped with a first substrate (10), a second substrate (20), a liquid crystal layer (30) and a columnar spacer (40). The first substrate is provided with a pixel electrode (11), a TFT (12) and an interlayer insulation layer (13), and the second substrate (20) is provided with first, second and third color filters (22R, 22G, 22B) arranged in a delta configuration. Each pixel has a substantially n-gon form (wherein n represents an integer of 8 or greater) or a substantially circular form. The TFT and the columnar spacer are arranged in a first three colors boundary area (i.e., a first area located at the boundary of three colors) (r3a), and a contact hole (13a) of the interlayer insulation layer is arranged in a second three colors boundary area (i.e., a second area located at the boundary of the three colors) (r3b). Two among three pixels (R, G, B) that define the first three colors boundary area are the same as two among three pixels that define the second three colors boundary area, and the other pixel among the three pixels that define the first three colors boundary area is located at a position different from that of the other among the three pixels that define the second three colors boundary area. |
