PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an experimental device for minute frictional wear capable of accurately measuring the friction and wear characteristic of ultraminiature components constituting a minute mechanical system. SOLUTION: This device comprises a work bench 4 for fixing a flat-plate test piece 1 on its upper surface, a first drive means 3 for horizontally reciprocating the work bench 4, a vertically movable support table 6 positioned above the work bench 4 to allow a ball test piece 2 to be fixed to its lower surface, a first sensor 8 for sensing horizontal displacement of the test piece 1, a second drive means for actuating the support table 6 to exert a certain load on the test piece 1 by means of the test piece 2, a second sensor 9 for sensing displacement of the test piece 2, a control part for actuating the first and second drive means and measuring/calculating the displacement by means of the sensors 8 and 9, and a display part for displaying, in real time for experimenters, the frictional wear characteristics of the test pieces calculated by the control part.
