Provided are a widget setting method and a terminal device. The method comprises: based on a first input which is used for selecting a widget setting interface, presenting the widget setting interface on a display device, the widget setting interface comprising a widget setting area; and based on a second input which is used for selecting a widget unit and selecting a first setting subarea used for presenting the widget unit and belonging to the widget setting area, presenting the widget unit in the first setting subarea, the widget unit mapping at least one application program. The widget setting method and the terminal device in the embodiments of the present invention can custom the shape, the content and the mapped application program of a desktop widget, and meet the demand of a user. |
