This paper sheet processor is characterized by having: a stacking mechanism provided with a plurality of stacking units for stacking paper sheets; a recognition unit for recognizing identification information and types of paper sheets; a paper sheet conveying unit for conveying and stacking a paper sheet that has been subjected to recognition processing in a stacking unit corresponding to the recognition result thereof; a mis-stack detection unit for detecting the fact that conveying and stacking have resulted in a paper sheet being stacked in the wrong stacking unit; and an outputting unit for outputting information pertaining to the mis-stacked paper sheet when a mis-stacked paper sheet has been detected.
