The device has a gutter-shaped rail element (10), a closing ring (12), a trumpet element (4), and a compression ring (13) movably guiding supply lines (2) in a compensation section (1) in a u-shaped loop of a protection loop (3) or a link chain. The protection loop or the link chain is guided between two profile elements (9) i.e. strand profiles, in the compensation section. The profile elements are detachably connected with each other by a connecting element (6). The profile elements directly guide the protection loop or the link chain in a region of an arc (14) of the u-shaped loop.
