PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geology/stratum change detection device and detection method for improving incompatibility between data of excavation sound acquired for detection at an excavation work site and reference data to be compared, and reducing burdens of preparation work and selection work of the reference data.SOLUTION: The geology/stratum change detection device includes a sound collection device and an acoustic analyzer, and the acoustic analyzer includes acoustic feature amount calculation means based on excavation sound, reference sound partial space preparation means, means for calculating a deviation distance between an acoustic feature amount and a reference sound partial space, threshold setting means for setting a threshold, and means for comparing the deviation distance and the threshold. The reference sound partial space preparation means prepares the reference sound partial space from the acoustic feature amount acquired within first prescribed time after the start of excavation work, the threshold setting means calculates the threshold from the acoustic feature amount acquired within second prescribed time, and the comparison means determines whether or not the deviation distance exceeds the threshold after the lapse of the second prescribed time. |
