PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic voting system, though a qualified voter performs a voting operation from any location, preventing a proxy vote and a fraudulent vote.SOLUTION: The electronic voting system has a configuration to connect a voting server 21 that stores a qualified voters' list including voters consisting of codes identifying a qualified voter, to each of a plurality of terminal machines N1,... Nn capable of performing biometric authentication of an identical person such as fingerprint, by a communication line via an Internet communication network 11. A fingerprint and a voter are previously registered in a terminal machine in such a state as authenticating the identical person. When the input fingerprint and voter are collated with each of the previously registered ones and match therewith, prepared specific candidates and the voter are uploaded on the voting server. The voting server collates the voter with the qualified voters' list, checks whether or not the voter may vote twice, and stores the specified candidate and the voter. This vote by fingerprint collation of the identical person is indisputably a vote by the intention of the qualified voter himself/herself, and eliminates any possibility of a proxy vote. |
