PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an error of a clause break position and an error of kana-kanji conversion to be corrected by more simple operation.SOLUTION: An character input device performs the steps of: setting display of a clause specifying button frame 64 for each clause while executing character recognition processing, clause break processing and kana-kanji conversion processing with respect to character strings input by handwriting; defining a first character of a specified clause as a clause beginning position when the clause is specified by a tap on the clause specifying button frame 64 and displaying a candidate list 66 in which clause break position candidates having different clause break positions and kana-kanji conversion candidates at the same clause break position are laid out in a matrix form; and re-executing the clause break processing and the kana-kanji conversion processing with respect to character strings subsequent to a character string determined while determining a clause and notation, kana notation and kanji notation, of a candidate selected when any candidate is selected from the candidate list 66 by the tap. |
