PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device which, while preventing a backlight from being unexpectedly turned off, can efficiently reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: A terminal device disclosed by the present invention includes a display unit 19, a proximity sensor 14, an acceleration sensor 13, and a processor 11. The processor 11 determines whether a first detection value acquired from the proximity sensor 14 indicates a proximity state and, when the first detection value is found to indicate a proximity state, turns the backlight of the display unit 19 off. When the first detection value is found not to indicate a proximity state, the processor 11 acquires a second detection value from the acceleration sensor 13 and determines whether the acquired second detection value indicates that there was vibration. Then, when the second detection value is found not to indicate that there was vibration, the processor 11 turns the backlight of the display unit 19 off. |
