PURPOSE: An image capturing apparatus is provided to miniaturize an image capturing unit and reduce the thickness, thereby correcting the phase shake. CONSTITUTION: An image capturing apparatus (10) includes a front lens group, a movable lens group, a support member (40), a movable frame, and a driving device. The front lens group is configured of a part of the image capturing optical system of the image capturing apparatus, and is provided in the fixed location with respect to the optical axis direction. The front lens group includes at least one front lens element (L1) and a reflection element reflecting the beam emitted from the front lens element. The movable lens group is configured of another part of the image capturing optical system, and is provided much closer to the upper surface than the front lens group and moves along the optical axis. The support member at least supports the reflection element of the front lens group. The movable frame supports the front lens element, and is supported by the support member so as to move along the plane orthogonal to the optical axis of the front lens element. The driving device drives the movable frame in the plane according to the shake applied to the image capturing optical system.
