The invention relates to an electric machine (1), in particular for a hybrid drive of a vehicle, comprising a housing (2) and a jacket (3) concentrically surrounding the housing (2). An annular cooling jacket that is sealed liquid-tight and through which a coolant can flow extends between the housing (2) and the jacket (3). According to the invention, in order to provide effective cooling for the electric machine (1) having compact outer dimensions, the cooling jacket (4) is connected to a coolant supply (5) and a coolant outlet (6) in such a way that the coolant can be axially introduced into the cooling jacket (4) and lead away from the cooling jacket (4). The coolant supply (5) and the coolant outlet (6) are arranged next to each other in the circumferential direction of the housing (2) and are connected in terms of flow to a deflecting section diametrically opposite the coolant supply (5) by coolant channels (9) extending in the circumferential direction. Thus, coolant introduced into the cooling jacket (4) can flow to the deflecting section in two partial flows (12, 13) having opposite flow directions through coolant channels (9) forming a feed (14) and can be deflected in such a way that the coolant flows back to the coolant outlet (6) through at least one coolant channel (9) forming a return (19), wherein coolant can flow in opposite directions through the at least one coolant channel (9) of the return (19) and the axially adjacent coolant channel (9) of the feed (14). |
