PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle, having an engine and a first and a second electric motors connected through the engine and a power dividing mechanism, capable of achieving backup running when an inverter has failed.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle includes: an engine; a first electric motor; an output member; a power dividing mechanism structured so that each of three elements of the output member, an output shaft of the engine and an output shaft of the first electric motor is mechanically connected and any one of the three elements is used as a reaction element for power transmission between the other two elements; and a second electric motor connected with the output member. If the engine is running when an inverter connected with the first and the second electric motors fails, a controller gate-shuts down the inverter and controls an engine speed according to a DC voltage of the inverter, rotational speed of the output member and an accelerator state to adjust a driving torque generated at the output member. |
