The invention relates to a headlamp for vehicles comprising a light source, a reflector assigned to the light source, a lens mounted in front of the reflector and a wall arranged between the reflector and the lens in order to generate a determined light distribution, a diaphragm edge of the diaphragm representing a light/dark boundary of the light distribution, further comprising a lens holder for receiving the lens and a deflection surface arranged between the lens and the reflector by means of which a partial light beam reflected on a upper half of the reflector can be deflected in order to illuminate a traffic sign arranged at a height, the deflection surface being secured in a lower half of the lens holder on same.
