PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost vacuum cleaner.SOLUTION: Provided is a vacuum cleaner including: a dust collection chamber 14 for collecting the dust sucked in by a suction air generated by an electric blower 4; a cleaner body 1 having a freely openable/closable dust collection chamber cover 5 provided on the upper side of the dust collection chamber 14 and a dust packing 36 for making the dust collection chamber 14 airtight; a communication hole 19 formed in the cleaner body 1, disposed midway in an air intake passage 17 communicating the dust collection chamber 14 and the outside air, and formed with part of the dust packing 36; and an air protector 15 for usually closing the communication hole 19, and opening the communication hole 19 when a specific amount of dust is taken into the dust collection chamber 14. A cylinder part 20 for housing the air protector 15 is firmed of the cleaner body 1, and there is no need for manufacturing outer structural pars for the air protector 15. In addition, the air protector 15 part can be used in common with other models, since the installation position is not limited to the appearance design of the cleaner. |
