PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection apparatus which can securely agitate liquid in a flow passage, in particular, liquid near a nozzle opening while restricting the wasteful consumption of liquid, and prevents air from being drawn in through the nozzle opening.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection apparatus comprises: a liquid ejection head 1 having a nozzle opening 21 for ejecting liquid and having a pressure generating means 300 to make a pressure change in a liquid flow passage communicate with the nozzle opening 21; a close-contact cap 130 to seal the nozzle opening 21 by being disposed in close contact with a liquid ejection face 20a in which the nozzle opening 21 of the liquid ejection head 1 is opened; and an agitation control means to agitate liquid in the liquid flow passage by driving the pressure generating means 300 while sealing the nozzle opening 21 by the close-contact cap 130. The close-contact cap 130 has a flexible vibration part 131 vibrated by the drive of the pressure generating means 300. |
