PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal complex dye excellent in short circuit current density, electric charge injection efficiency and durability, a photoelectric conversion element, a dye-sensitized solar cell, a dye absorption liquid composition for a cell and a cell-manufacturing method.SOLUTION: Provided are a photoelectric conversion element 10 having a semiconductor 22 and a dye 21 represented by the formula (1) or (2), a dye-sensitized solar cell, a dye absorption liquid composition for a cell and a cell-manufacturing method. Formula (1): M(L1)(L2)(L3)(X)/(Y); and Formula (2): M(L1)(L3)(X)/(Y). [In the formulas, M represents Fe, Ruor Os, L1 represents a bidentate to quadridentate ligand having an acidic group and a nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic skeleton, L2 represents a silicon or phosphorus bidentate or tridentate ligand where the coordination atom has no unsaturated bond, L3 represents a silicon, phosphorus or sulfur unidentate ligand where the coordination atom has no unsaturated bond, and X represents an unidentate or bidentate ligand.
