PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material sensing method and a material sensing device capable of easily detecting the existence of a high polymer material having a helical three-dimensional structure by analyzing an absorption spectrum.SOLUTION: A material sensing method according to the present invention includes irradiating a sample with terahertz light, measuring an absorption spectrum of the terahertz light on the sample, detecting an absorption peak of the measured absorption spectrum, and detecting the existence of a high polymer material having a helical three-dimensional structure in the sample. The high polymer material to be a detection object has a structure in which functional groups larger in size than methyl groups are arranged side by side outside the helical structure. |
