641,274. Typewriters &c. PAILLARD SOC. ANON. Dec. 18, 1947, No. 33397. Convention date, July 31. [Class 100 (iv)] In a device for suspending the escapement mechanism of a typewriter or like carriage, the. mechanism 4-7 is secured rigidly to a support 3 connected to the framework of the machine by at least one spring blade 13 formed in the walls 1 of the framework. The framework is formed by two sheet-iron side walls 1 connected by cross-bars 2 and 11 (not shown), these walls being cut to form two tongues 13 which are secured at their free ends to the support 3 by screws 14. The support has depending lugs 15 at each end spaced to form a clearance 16 between them and the framework so that the lugs act to limit the amount of oscillation of the tongues 13 by their contact with the side walls 1. |
