WAVELENGTH SELECTION SWITCH SYSTEM AND WAVELENGTH SELECTION SWITCH CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selection switch system capable of improving reliability in reading of setting information.SOLUTION: The wavelength selection switch system comprises: a wavelength selection switch comprising an input port and an output port; a nonvolatile memory which stores therein setting information for controlling the operation of the wavelength selection switch; a high-speed memory which is capable of reading and writing faster than the nonvolatile memory and stores a copy of the setting information stored in the nonvolatile memory; and control means which controls the operation of the wavelength selection switch on the basis of the setting information read from the high-speed memory. The control means periodically reads the setting information stored in the nonvolatile memory and writes the copy of the read setting information into the high-speed memory.
