PURPOSE: An object tracking device and a control method thereof are provided to track a target object without error even in the case that the target object is hidden by another object. CONSTITUTION: If a target object for tracking is not hidden in a specific frame of an input image, an object tracking device updates the reliable data of the target object for tracking (S102, S103). The object tracking device updates the template of the target object for tracking and estimates the next location of the target object for tracking (S104). If the target object for tracking is hidden, the object tracking device expands a search area for particles (S106).
