<p>The control amplitude and control frequency of the voltage to be applied on a piezoelectric pump are determined (steps S111-S114). Control is performed so that a voltage having the determined control amplitude and control frequency is applied to the piezoelectric pump (steps S121, S122). The blood pressure is calculated on the basis of the cuff pressure detected by a pressure-detecting unit during the pressurization process in which the cuff pressure is increased using the piezoelectric pump (step S123). The voltage amplitude can be controlled in prescribed stages. In order to obtain an outcome that is roughly equivalent to when the voltage having the determined control amplitude is applied, a voltage of at least one amplitude level above and a voltage of at least one amplitude level below the control amplitude are applied in a specified order (steps S111, S112, S121, S122). Controlling pressurization using the piezoelectric pump during the blood pressure measurement pressurization process makes it possible to limit the generation of noise and to improve the precision of blood pressure measurements by reducing the effects of the pulse and by the high precision pressurization control.</p> |
