Embodiments of the present invention provide a system information updating method, an access network device, and a user equipment. The embodiments of the present invention can avoid the problem in the prior art that a user equipment cannot correctly receive updated system information because a subframe configured in a system information receiving window corresponding to the updated system information by the user equipment supporting half-duplex data transmission may comprise an uplink subframe or may further comprise an idle subframe, thereby improving the reliability of system information acquisition and the reliability of data transmission.
