The method involves coating a portion of an outer side (4) of a ceramic component i.e. piezoceramic actuator (1), with a ceramic coating. The coated component is sintered. The ceramic component is dried and subjected to a binder removal process, before the sintering process. The ceramic component is dipped into a suspension (3) for coating such that the coating is formed by spraying the suspension on the outer side of the ceramic component, where the suspension comprises powdery, ceramic material. An independent claim is also included for a piezoceramic actuator.
