A vehicle power coupling apparatus 60, 80, 100 for a vehicle 30 includes a pickup coil arrangement 60 for receiving inductively coupled power, wherein the pickup arrangement 60 is supported by a plurality of pivotally-attached members 80 to the vehicle 30, such that the pickup coil arrangement 60 is operable to swing backwards in response to unevenness and/or debris 200 present upon and/or at an upper surface of a roadway 20 along which the vehicle 30 is operable to travel.
