PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing asidian tunic extract is provided to suppress 5alpha-reductase activity, to prevent hair loss, and to improve scalp. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for preventing hair loss, promoting hair growth, and improving scalp contains 0.00001-30 wt% of asidian tunic extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water or organic solvent. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of a hair tonic, hair conditioner, hair essence, hair lotion, hair shampoo, hair rinse, hair treatment, hair cream, hair nutrition cream, and hair wax. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing hair loss, promoting hair growth, and improving scalp contains the extract as an active ingredient.
