<p>A device for diagnosing a hybrid vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine, an electric motor for generating electric power for vehicle travel, and a diagnostic means for motoring the internal combustion engine using the electric motor in a state in which the output of the internal combustion engine is zero to diagnose the vehicle status, wherein the diagnostic device is provided with a required driving power detecting means for detecting the driving power required by the driver, a determining means for determining whether a remaining time required for completing the diagnosis is equal to or less than a certain time when the required driving power not less than a certain lower limit is detected by the required driving power detecting means while the vehicle state is being diagnosed by the diagnostic means, and a control means for outputting the driving power for vehicle travel from the electric motor while motoring the internal combustion engine using the electric motor in the state in which the output of the internal combustion engine is zero to allow the diagnostic means to continue the diagnosis of the vehicle state if the remaining time is not greater than the certain time according to the determination result obtained from the determining means.</p> |
