A home server (104) of a data transfer system requests connection destination information for a connected electrical apparatus (108) from a service management server (101), whereupon the service management server (101) reads connection destination identification-use data included in the request for the connection destination information, and by searching a database which associates the connection destination identification-use data for the server itself with the connection destination information, responds to the home server (104) with the retrieved connection destination information. Thereupon, the home server (104) transfers power consumption information received from the electrical apparatus (108) to a service provision server (102) identified by the replied connection destination information.
