<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can form a superior image by changing over whether resistance to suppress center portion advance conveyance is applied automatically in response to stiffness of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: When a paper sheet goes into a space 40 (a space guided by a first guide surface 24A and a second guide surface 25A), the paper sheet contacts protrusions 30E. The paper sheet is conveyed while a center region thereof receives resistance from a pressing member 31. The protrusions 30E are displaced upward against urging force of a compression coil spring 34 during contact with the paper sheet, which pushes the pressing member 31 upward accordingly. The amount of displacement increases with a paper sheet having stronger stiffness. The greater the amount of the displacement of the protrusions 30E is, the smaller the pressing force (in other words, the resistance against the center region of the paper sheet) of the pressing member 31 is. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
