<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for assisting a pilot so that the pilot can efficiently perform dispersion when dispersing a dispersed matter at a target position on the ground from an aircraft. <P>SOLUTION: The dispersion assistance apparatus (fire extinction assistance apparatus) 2 includes at least: an input unit 21 adapted to input each type of information on the aircraft including aircraft speed, an aircraft altitude, and wind speed; a calculator 22 adapted to perform calculation related to an arrival position over the ground surface when the dispersed matter is dropped from the aircraft and the density distribution of the dispersed matter on the ground surface on the basis of the information inputted to the input unit; and a display controller 23 adapted to display, on a display unit (HMD) 3, assistance information concerning the arrival position and density distribution calculated by the calculator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
