<p>A multiple input multiple output configuration method and a radio network controller, which avoid user equipment (UE) dropping words after a drifted radio network controller (DRNC) of the UE closes an auxiliary antenna or deactivates an auxiliary pilot channel. The method includes: when a first radio network controller (RNC) is a DRNC of the UE and a second RNC adjacent to the first RNC is an SRNC of the UE, before closing an auxiliary antenna or deactivating an auxiliary pilot channel for a cell governed thereby, the first RNC sending a message to the second RNC indicating that the second RNC is to configure the UE in a non-MIMO mode; after having received the message indicating that the second RNC is to configure the UE in a non-MIMO mode sent by the first RNC, the second RNC configuring the UE in a non-MIMO mode or switching the UE to another cell.</p> |
