<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic steel wire which can improve the efficiencies of joining and plating of the metallic wire, and to provide an apparatus for producing the metallic wire which can realize uniformity of plating, enhanced workability, and enhanced safety. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the metallic steel wire includes a step of joining the metallic steel wires together and removing burrs generated by joining from the joint, and a plating step of plating the joint, wherein the joining step is immediately followed by the conveying step of conveying the joints to the plating apparatus used in the plating step. The apparatus for producing the metallic steel wire includes, as an integrally contiguous system, a joining apparatus for welding the metallic steel wires together and a plating apparatus for brass-plating the joint of the jointed brass-plated metallic steel wire. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
