<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing a surface of an as-cast workpiece capable of efficiently removing, by means of a planer device, a heat denatured layer present on the surface of an as-cast workpiece having a three-dimensionally varying surface without removing a normal metal structure. <P>SOLUTION: The surface of a workpiece 90 in an as-cast state is divided into units of many cutting lines L1, a level variation of the surface of the workpiece 90 in each cutting line L1 is measured beforehand as two-dimensional level variation information by a laser beam ranging element 60, and planer type cutting work is performed, for each cutting line L1, while a cutting tool B is vertically feedback-controlled with the acquired level variation information assumed as a target value. A three-dimensional level variation of the workpiece surface is indirectly targeted for control as parallel information to the two-dimensional level variation information, and only a heat denatured layer present on the surface of the as-cast workpiece 90 can be removed without removing a normal metal structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
