PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling the phase current detection of an inverter is provided to increase a current detection area by detecting an output current of the inverter using a shunt resistor. CONSTITUTION: An inverter unit(20) includes a plurality of first semiconductor devices and a plurality of second semiconductor devices. The second semiconductor device is serially connected to the first semiconductor device. A plurality of shunt resistors(30) are serially connected to the emitters of the second semiconductor devices, respectively. A current detecting unit(40) detects a current flowing in the shunt resistor. A control unit controls the phase current output of the first and second semiconductor devices.
