HIGH PRODUCTIVITY SPREADER/TRANSFIX SYSTEM FOR DUPLEX MEDIA SHEET IN INKJET PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which prevents image failure caused by the movement of a releasing agent on a pressure roller to a printed surface of a sheet.

SOLUTION: A method of operating a printer produces duplex images with improved throughput. A method monitors the position of an area of the pressure roller 136 that carries the release agent 168 and synchronizes a media conveyance part to insert the media sheet into a nip 134 formed with the pressure roller so the release agent 168 on the pressure roller exits the nip 134 as the leading edge 157 of the media sheet enters the nip 134. The circumference of the pressure roller 136 is an integral number times the length of the media sheet plus inter-document gap.
