<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize short-range wireless communication between a portable terminal and a service device which do not have communication settings necessary for communicating with each other, without requiring a user to perform communication setting. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 acquires device specific identification information of a service device from the service device 20, and transmits the device specific identification information to a connection support server 30. The connection support server 30 selects access information to the service device which is received from the portable terminal and associated with the device specific identification information. Then, the connection support server transmits communication setting information necessary for short-range wireless communication between the portable terminal and the service device to the portable terminal, and also transmits the communication setting information to the service device on the basis of the selected access information to the service device.
