A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/1> is prepared by refluxing 4-aminocinnamic acid methyl ester with phenyl mustard oil to give diphenyl - thiourea - 4 - acrylic acid methyl ester, which is cyclized by refluxing with chloracetyl chloride to give 2-phenylimino-3-[phenyl-(4-acrylic acid methyl ester)]-thiazolidone-(4), and further reacted with b -(2-furyl)-acrolein. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/2> is prepared by refluxing pyridine, allyl-phenyl-thiourea and chloracetyl chloride to give 2-allylimino - 3 - phenyl - thiazolidone - (4), which is refluxed with 4 - (b - anisoyl - vinyl) - benzaldehyde in piperidine. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/3> is prepared by reacting anisylidene-propenyl-thiosemicarbazone with sodium alcoholate and ethyl chloracetate to give 2,4-diketo-3-allyltetrahydrothiazole - 2 - anisylideen hydrazone, which is refluxed with piperonal. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/4> is prepared by refluxing 2-allylimino-3-phenylthiazolidone-(4) with cinnamaldehyde and piperidine. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/5> is prepared by refluxing 2,4-diketo-3-allyl-tetrahydrothiazole-2-anisylidene hydrazone and cinnamaldehyde. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/6> is prepared by refluxing 2,4-diketo-3-allyl-tetrahydrothiazole - 2 - anisylidene hydrazone with 4 - (b - anisoyl - vinyl) - benzaldehyde. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/7> is prepared by refluxing 2,4-diketo-3-allyl-tetrahydrothiazole - 2 - anisylidene hydrazone with terephthaldialdehyde. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/8> is prepared by refluxing N-hydroxyethyl-N1-phenyl-thiourea with chloracetic ethyl ester to give 3 - (b - hydroxyethyl) - 2 - phenylimino - thiazolidone-(4) which is reacted with 4-(b -anisoylvinyl)-benzaldehyde. A thiazolidone of the formula <FORM:0999796/C2/9> is prepared by reacting 3-(b -hydroxyethyl)-2-phenylimino-thiazolidone-(4) with cinnamaldehyde.
