摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deformable material that has excellent flexibility, can be deformed or displaced at a low voltage and is excellent in operability in a low temperature region, and further to provide an actuator using the deformable material. <P>SOLUTION: A deformable material of the present invention includes: a stimuli-responsive chemical compound of which a molecular structure is changed by an oxidation-reduction reaction; and an organic salt and/or an inorganic salt. The stimuli-responsive chemical compound comprises: a unit A that has a bond functioning as a rotating axis; a first unit B disposed at a first site bonded to the unit A; and a second unit B and units C disposed at a second site bonded to the unit A. The first unit B and the second unit B are bonded to each other by the oxidation-reduction reaction.
