The clip (10) has one-piece clamping bands forming two loops (17, 18) with free ends (19, 20) for receiving connecting elements (15, 16). One of the clamping bands is folded in form of a cover band and made of a steel sheet. The free ends of the loops are mutually overlapped in a three-layer overlapping region (21). The clamping bands include three layers (22-24) in the overlapping region, where the layers flushingly lie on each other. The layers are connected with each other at connection points. An independent claim is also included for a clamping device.
