Provided are a method and device for playing a video from a breakpoint. The method includes: obtaining a bookmark from a network server, with the bookmark being created according to an instruction to set a breakpoint; obtaining time information about a video carried by the bookmark and viewing angle information about the played video corresponding to the time information; and playing the video from the breakpoint represented by the time information according to the viewing angle represented by the viewing angle information. The embodiments of the present invention carry viewing angle information in a bookmark, thus enabling the watching of a video according to the viewing angle represented by the viewing angle information, and enhancing the viewing angle experience of the users in watching a video.
