PURPOSE: Precipitation hardening type die steel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain high hardness and toughness at the same time by controlling processing conditions. CONSTITUTION: Precipitation hardening type die steel comprises C of 0.05-0.13weight%, Si of 0.2-1.2weight%, Mn of 1.3-1.7weight%, Cr of 0.2-1.0weight%, Mo of 0.2-1.0weight%, Ni of 2.5-3.5weight%, Cu of 0.7-1.5weight%, Al of 0.7-1.5weight%, Nb of 0.01-0.1weight%, S of 0.006weight% or less, and Fe and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount, satisfying -6.7Δ[Cr]+2[Mo]-2[Si]-3[Mn]-20[C]Δ-3.8. |
