PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of calculating information on the correction of an image to be projected, by approximation of an object for projecting the image thereon, by plane.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: imaging means which images an area including an object having an image projected thereon, to acquire image data; distance measuring means which calculates distance data on a separation distance between the object and the imaging means on the basis of the image data; plane estimation means which estimates a plane corresponding to the object from the distance data; and correction information calculation means for calculating information on the correction of an image to be projected, on the basis of the distance data and the information on the plane.
