PURPOSE: An apparatus for separating and guiding a scrap edge ribbon of a side trimmer is provided to implement precise side trimming on both edges of a strip by pressing the strip with upper and lower press rolls to maintain uniform flatness of the strip. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for separating and guiding a scrap edge ribbon of a side trimmer(3) comprises a roll pressing unit(110), a scrap separating unit, and a scrap guiding unit(130). The roll pressing unit comprises an upper frame(112), a motor member(115), and a lower frame(114). The upper frame supports an upper press roll which contacts the upper side of a strip. The motor member moves an operating shaft up and down. The lower frame supports a lower press roll(113) which contacts the lower side of the strip. The scrap separating unit comprises a separating knife(121) which is installed on the leading end of a rod of an upper cylinder and located between a scrap edge ribbon and the strip. The scrap edge ribbon, separated by the separating knife, is put in a scrap guide and discharge box(131) of the scrap guiding unit, and the scrap guiding unit guides the scrap edge ribbon to the back. |
