PURPOSE: An electrode assembly is provided to suppress the resistance increase while obtaining battery safety by coating a separator with a gas material which generates gas when the battery is overcharged. CONSTITUTION: An electrode assembly(100) comprises a positive electrode(110), a negative electrode(120), and a separator(130), and comprises a gas material(140) which is coated on the separator and generates gas by being electrolyzed at a specific voltage. The separator is one or more selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, a polyethylene/polypropylene bilayer, a polyethylene/polypropylene/polyethylene trilayer, a polypropylene/polyethylene/polypropylene trilayer, and organic fiber filter paper. A lithium secondary battery comprises a device(CID) which operates to block current when the inner pressure of the battery is increased at a specific voltage, and the electrode assembly. |
