<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recognition accuracy from falling. <P>SOLUTION: A recognition device of an embodiment includes an acquisition part, calculation part, main axis selection part, conversion point setting part, section setting part, determination part, and presentation part. The acquisition part acquires the position of a specific part represented by a coordinate system having a first axis to the n-th axis time-sequentially. The calculation part calculates a mobile vector of a specific part in each position. The main axis selection part calculates a first inner product value to the n-th inner product value being an inner product value with each of the first axis to the n-th axis in each mobile vector, and selects an axis used to calculate an inner product value having the largest absolute value as a main axis. The conversion point setting part sets a position at which main axes are switched as a main axis conversion point and a direction conversion point, and sets a position at which mobile vector directions are switched in a main axis component as the direction conversion point. The section setting part sets a determination object section and a preceding section. The determination part uses an evaluation value of the determination object section and an evaluation value of the preceding section to determine an axis dominant to the movement of a specific part in the determination object section.
