摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem of present HTTP-based website browsing where a server has to hold back some of requested data until a network "catches up" with data delivery and users are frustrated by slow response and page loading times, i.e., the bandwidth to send a request is more than needed and the bandwidth to receive pages is not enough to deliver the data at acceptable rates. <P>SOLUTION: A technique for providing high speed data service over standard wireless connections via a unique integration of protocols and existing cellular signaling. Channel resources are allocated according to a buffer monitoring scheme between a base station (104) and multiple subscriber units (101-1 to 101-n).
